A delicious ice cream that is great for a dinner party dessert. Feel free to leave out the alcohol completely if you prefer. You could add some vanilla, lemon, or lime instead. Remember to place the bowl in the freezer 24 hours in advance.

Step preview

  1. Place the Frozen Dessert Maker attachment in the freezer 24 hours in advance
  2. Add the ingredients into a clean saucepan
  3. Heat until near boiling – medium heat
  4. Strain into a jug and let cool
  5. Fit the Whisk Tool
  6. Add the ingredients into the appliance bowl and fit the splashguard
  7. Mix - 2 min, Speed 4
  8. Mix - 2 min, Speed 4
  9. Carefully pour the milk mixture into the appliance bowl
  10. Mix - 2 min, Speed 4
  11. Pour the custard mixture back into the saucepan
  12. Heat until the custard is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon – medium heat
  13. Chill in the fridge – 1 hour
  14. Add the ingredients into a clean saucepan
  15. Heat stirring often until reduced a bit – about 10 minutes, medium heat
  16. Slightly squash the cherries
  17. Add the ingredients into a small bowl and mix until combined
  18. Add the cornflour mixture to the cherries
  19. Cook stirring often until thick – 5 minutes, medium heat
  20. Set aside and let cool
  21. Remove the custard from the fridge
  22. Pour cherry puree into the chilled custard and stir until combined
  23. Attach the Frozen Dessert Maker attachment to the machine
  24. Start the machine - speed Min
  25. Pour the custard mixture into the Frozen Dessert Maker
  26. Mix – 30 minutes, speed Min
  27. Transfer the mixture into a plastic container, cover with a lid and freeze overnight until solid
  28. Serve
