These little garlicky buns are full of creamy feta and thyme, and sweet honey. Perfect for picnics and BBQs. These are best eaten the same day they are made.

Step preview

  1. Fit the Dough Tool
  2. Add the ingredients into the appliance bowl
  3. Heat until the yeast has dissolved - 5 minutes, 30ºC, speed off
  4. Then add the next ingredients
  5. Knead until a dough has formed - 10 minutes, speed 1
  6. Remove the Dough Tool and fit the splashguard
  7. Prove until doubled in size - 1 hour, 30ºC, speed off
  8. Line baking trays with parchment paper
  9. Transfer the dough to a work surface and knead lightly
  10. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces
  11. Shape each piece into a tight ball
  12. Place the dough balls on the baking trays and space them apart
  13. Cover with a damp tea towel and prove until doubled in size - 1 hour
  14. Preheat the oven - 170ºC
  15. Brush the buns with beaten egg
  16. Bake until lightly golden - 20 minutes, 170ºC
  17. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly
  18. Keep the oven turned on - 150°C
  19. Clean the appliance bowl and fit the K-Beater
  20. Add the ingredients into the appliance bowl
  21. Mix until combined - 30 seconds, speed 1
  22. Transfer the mixture into a piping bag
  23. Slice a deep cross into each bun
  24. Pipe a line of filling in between each wedge and in the centre
  25. Add the ingredients into a clean bowl and mix to combine
  26. Brush the garlic butter over the buns
  27. Bake until golden brown - 10 minutes, 150ºC
  28. Serve
