This cake takes a bit longer to make but is worth it. The pears and syrup stop the sponge from drying out and sweeten the cake (if your pears are already quite sweet you can leave out the maple syrup) and the creamy, nutty icing adds even more flavour.

  1. Grease and flour a Bundt tin
  2. Preheat the oven - 180ºC
  3. Fit the K-Beater
  4. Add the ingredients into the appliance bowl
  5. Mix until combined - about 2 minutes, speed Min
  6. Then add the next ingredients
  7. Mix until combined - about 30 seconds, speed Min
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt tin
  9. Bake until golden brown - 55 minutes, 180ºC
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool
  11. Add the ingredients into a clean bowl and mix until combined
  12. Drizzle icing on the cake
  13. Decorate with nuts
  14. Serve
